Transition into Reception

The prospect of starting school is an exciting milestone for every child parent and parent alike. For our new Reception intake, our main focus is the transition to school; what this looks like, how the children are feeling, how to express these emotions etc. We have therefore put together some more ideas and suggestions of things that you can do at home to further support your child for the transition to school.

Children are welcomed into Reception at the beginning of the academic year in which they turn five.

At our academies we support families and children with the choices they make when deciding about their new school. Children joining us in Reception are able to choose a full time provision from the first day. It is important to note that parents have the right not to send their child to school full time until the term after their child’s fifth birthday. Please contact us if you’d like to know more about this.

To apply for a place in our Reception year group please contact Norfolk County Council.
